On the way back to Florida after visiting friends in Huntsville, Alabama, we visited the Chief Ladiga Trail at Piedmont. On a trip to Pensacola, we visited Alabama's Gulf Coast and biked on the Backcountry Trail at Gulf State Park. Scroll down or click on the link below for more details:
Chief Ladiga Trail: The Trail runs 32.5 miles from Anniston, AL, to the Georgia State Line where it joins the Silver Comet Trail (62 miles to Smyrna, GA). The trail goes through four cities and through Jacksonville State University. Built on an abandoned CSX rail bed, this was Alabama's first rails-to-trails conversion.

Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail: The 15-mile multi-purpose trail system consists of seven trails through Orange Beach and Gulf State Park on Alabama's Gulf Coast. A wide variety of wildlife can be see as you ride through six distinct ecosystems, running over creeks, alongside marshes, sand dunes and swamps.
